Anchorage Massage Therapies (AMT) is a therapeutic and wellness massage studio in Anchorage, Alaska. They needed SEO-optimized website copywriting that would increase their online visibility and ensure the community could easily find them online.

The Challenge

When we first started working together, AMT’s website was ranking #16 in local SEO search results for the term “massage therapy.”

Fewer than 150 people per month were finding them online—not good, considering how talented their therapists are and how much impact their services could make. AMT and I set out on a mission: Get them to #1.

The Solution:


I optimized their on- and off- page SEO, transformed their entire client acquisition strategy, built them a brand new Squarespace website with SEO-optimized copywriting, and posted SEO blogs each week for the next six months.

Engaging Client-Focused Email Copy

  • Weekly emails let clients know new blogs were available to read. As you can see, the open rates are higher than usual.

  • This drives clients back to the website, boosting SEO further

  • Plus, emails provide value and remind patients to book

The Results

A 1400% Increase in Website Traffic

AMT’s website soared to the top of Google search results for their market. In the graphic below, you can see it peaking at 21,000 visitors and then stabilizing.

The initial surge was likely due to the keyword strategy, and the drop was likely due to numbers recalibrating for the local market and website authority. (For example, a blog posted on a Johns Hopkins website will rank higher than a blog posted on a local healthcare website, even if it’s the exact same blog.)

After the SEO stabilized, the official results were in: AMT’s website went from 148 visitors a month to averaging more than 2298 visitors a month — an increase of over 1400%.

  1. 1. AMT went from #16 to #1 in search results for 12 keyword searches and within the top 10 search results for more than 57 different local keywords

  2. 2. Hundreds of new patients found AMT online and booked appointments

  3. 3. They implemented a no-show policy & credit card requirement to manage demand

  4. 4. AND expanded their team to accommodate more patients
